Good news from Gaza! 🎉 More than 500,000 displaced Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza in the past 72 hours, according to the media office managed by Hamas on Wednesday.
\"More than half a million displaced Palestinians have returned in the past 72 hours from the southern and central governorates to Gaza and the northern governorates via the Al-Rashid and Salah Al-Din roads\", said the media office in a statement.
This massive return comes after Israel began allowing displaced persons to return to the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, following a ceasefire agreement with Hamas that paused 15 months of fighting.
Additionally, Hamas's armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced it will release three Israeli detainees this Thursday. Israeli public radio reported that Israel would release 110 Palestinian prisoners in exchange.
The Gaza health authorities reported that hospitals received 63 bodies in the last 24 hours, including 59 recovered from rubble, two who died of wounds, and two newly identified fatalities. This raises the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to 47,417, with 111,571 injured, according to the authorities.
We hope this new phase brings more hope and peace to everyone in the region. ✨
